The Making of Young Inventors

LEAD turns children into young inventors.  LEAD nurtures in children the following qualities of a good inventor:

Creativity in Problem-Solving

In LEAD, children are encouraged to define problems of their design in different ways, and solve those problems creatively by testing out new possibilities and with multiple strategies.

Technological Fluency

Being technologically fluent involves not only knowing how to use technological tools, but also knowing how to construct things of significance with the tools.

Through designing and creating computer-based products, children come to be technologically fluent - they become more proficient in exploring, experimenting, creating and expressing themselves with technologies.

Openness and Flexibility

Through design and creative exploration with technologies, children inquire into new knowledge, test out new possibilities, and become more receptive towards others' ideas.  They come to appreciate the importance of openness and flexibility in their perceptions and ways of thinking.

Greater Appreciation of Human Interfacing with Technology

In LEAD, children design and create things with technology that greatly matter to them.  They come to understand the significance of human interfaces with technology for the betterment of human lives. Eventually, LEAD cultivates children with a desire for contributing to the human world with technologies.
